Remember how I said I wasn't a book club person...? 📚

In fairness, I'm still not...

I've never been one to participate in a book club, but my friend Andie absolutely IS, so when she asked me if I'd be up for sharing some Bindery titles to kick off her next one, I couldn't say no.

Novel is an independent bookstore in downtown Fredericksburg that hosts a wide variety of book clubs on a monthly basis — everything from fantasy to thriller to topical nonfiction. In their effort to support more indie publishing efforts, Novel is starting a fully Bindery-focused book club in June!

Starting with "Of Monsters and Mainframes" by Barbara Truelove, and continuing on through the rest of this spring's new releases (all linked here), there will be one each month leading up to Bindery's Fall releases (and they'll double back to 2024's Fall titles, too, not to worry).

Anyone in the area is more than welcome to join, but even if you're not, please consider supporting the shop via https://bookshop.org/shop/Novelfxbg

This is a brand new store (I've gotten SPOILED for new bookshops lately) that I would love to see succeed. It's woman-owned with a major focus on community and small business support (Andie is nothing if not a HUGE proponent of uplifting her fellow business owners).

For the comments, have you ever done a book club before? What were some things you enjoyed/didn't love about the experience?
